Our client is a leading New Zealand business within the primary industries, managing large-scale assets with a focus on sustainability, strong partnerships, and long-term performance.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a busy role that will see you managing a team of two.  You will lead all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Lead end-to-end financial reporting including consolidation, reconciliations, and statutory compliance under IFRS
  • Manage annual audits and prepare financial statements for multiple entities
  • Ownership of tax compliance and regulatory filings
  • Joint-venture accounting
  • Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
  • You will also have the opportunity to drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and internal controls and get involved in upcoming system upgrades within SAP.
  • This is a key role within the finance team and you will work closely with stakeholders including the Managing Director, GM Operations, and Finance Director

About You:

The ideal candidate for this role will be CA / CPA qualified (or similar) and will have excellent technical knowledge in financial reporting, consolidations, and compliance.
Alongside your strong financial acumen, you will be a solid communicator – able to build strong relationships across the business.  You will have a continuous improvement mindset and bring energy and fresh ideas to the team.
You will have proven experience coaching and supervising whether that be via direct or in-direct reports.
This role could suit an experienced candidate who is looking for their first role outside of a Big 4 environment, or it could be someone with solid commercial skills within a large and complex business.
